The association was created to establish trade and policy guidelines for carbon markets around the world. Understand the importance of being a member and the impact of this important step on the solutions that Biofílica offers.

The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) is a non-profit business organization created to establish business guidelines and carbon market policies. It acts as the central voice of market-based climate solutions.

The main objectives of the association are:

Biofílica has just become a member of the association, being the first developer of Brazilian forest carbon projects to join IETA. For us, in addition to the merit of being once again pioneers, we see this achievement as a recognition and an opportunity to be increasingly aligned with the best practices of the voluntary carbon market.

This important step is bringing more intelligence to our REDD+ team, which now participates in several international Working Groups and has access to the safest and most robust information to deepen its knowledge about regulated markets in different regions of the world – especially in Latin America, where Biofílica has already made itself available to the association to bring information on the evolution of carbon pricing policies in Brazil.

In addition, the team has the opportunity to participate directly in a rich business ecosystem that discusses the most advanced nature-based solutions and voluntary carbon market developments, which are main themes of our field of activity for over 13 years.

With this, we expect to contribute to the strengthening of the market and, consequently, continue to evolve our solutions for neutralizing our costumer’s carbon emissions and improve our investments and methodologies focused on forest conservation.

IETA is also responsible for disseminating large amounts of information to as many people as possible.
